Del Norte Girls Cross Country Team Qualifies for State Meet

Congratulations to the Del Norte Girls Cross Country team for qualifying for the State Championships. The team placed second out 17 teams. Freshman Emily Russo placed 5th overall in 17:55.6, Junior Hannah Riggins, 10, 18:34.9, sophomore Ella Echsner 12, 18:42.7, freshman Paige Echsner, 20, 19:13.2, senior Emma Sandrew 29, 19:32.7.

The Del Norte Boys Cross Country team placed 9th. Senior Thomas Taniguchi was 31 overall in 16:28.0, senior Kolby Bradshaw 39, 16:35.7, senior Nathaniel Cherian 51, 16:53.6, senior Jett Kim, 17:18.7, junior Arnav Kanekar 68, 17:29.4, sophomore Evan Appari, 73, 17:32.3, freshman Jack Tetreault, 80, 17:52.0.

Congratulations to all! Cross country is a great sport, but it requires hard work regardless of natural talent. It appears that Del Norte has some terrific up and coming young talent.

California State Cross Country Championships  will be held on November 27, 2021 in Fresno, CA.
