Several years ago, a well-known magazine publisher was so lacking in sleep she fell forward face down and hit her head. Recovery took a while and it changed her life. She wrote extensively on the criticality of sleep, but I'm not sure she realized walking would be a problem.
Lack of sleep can also affect concentration and inhibit memory. Dementia may be another long-term result of sleep deprivation.
A simple walk can affect your health in a number of ways. Walking seems like an automatic activity and it should be. Many people walk out of necessity and/or for exercise, but if turning in a circle, leaning to one side or the other, and walking down hill borders on an out-of-control experience, consider how much sleep you have or have not gotten.
Building a good sleep schedule takes a bit of work and planning. Similar to walking, sleep is not always automatic. Make note of caffeine and sugar intake during the day and evening. A balanced diet is important too.
A sleep-monitoring device, can be used to track sleep measurements. Devices include FitBit, AppleWatch, Biostrap Active Set, and others recommended by the Sleep Foundation:
